Werewolves - Grind Melon (2008)

Baltimore punk/grind from 2008 that makes you wanna eat a massive amount of mushrooms and go hang out with Shannon Hoon at OEF.  I feel that is exactly what they did to record Grind Melon.  They are no more but were a blast to see live.

Alex Bleeker and the Freaks - How Far Away (2013)

New Jersey alternative indie-rock that just makes your work day slightly less painful...unless you cannot listen to music at work, then your still fucked! Ok, when take your lunch break, relax to How Far Away.  Creator of this band Alex Bleeker used to front Real Estate and you can tell its a perfect mash of art school and drip style coffee. Bottom-line, How Far Away is a harmless escape from your regular routine.

Robert Gordon w/ Link Wray - (1977)

Put on your dancing shoes cause this album is groooovy.  Robert Gordon channeling Roy Orbison and the almighty Link Wray on guitar, make tunes that Elvis was jealous of,  i.e "Sweet Surrender".  This s/t album came out in 1977 but carries a 1959 motion that has porch music written all over it.  A Rock & Roll album with a dash of, if i must say...RockaBilly, which is NOT my favorite style of music, but what can i say...I like it.  Probably the only "Rock a Billy Bullshit" that will ever surface my blog.  ENJOY IT!

Truchło Strzygi - Pora Umierać (2018)

Just by this album cover I had to check these dudes out.  Truchlo Strzygi is a Polish "Black Metal" band but this album comes off raw and to me as a demo crossover.  Pora Umierac (Gods Ov War Productions) is filled with Punk/Crust expressions and chants but makes you feel like your at punk house drinking warm beer and stinkin'. I can say is that this album has it all and me likey. Hopefully this picks up and someone puts it out on vinyl or cassette.

Wormrot - Dirge (2011)

Full on boot-to-the-face Grindcore.  Wormrot is an amazing 3 piece from Singapore that plays faster and tighter then a 5 piece jazz group. What is so grand about Wormrot is they incorporate sludge, punk and metal to create their own version of Grindcore and clearly it has given them success.   Vocals have a wide range a to make it seem all 3 members are singing at once.  25 songs in 18 mins.  Get ready to sweat and piss your pants.

Sadistic Intent - Resurrection (1994)

Fucking Grade-A Death Metal from the pits of Los Angeles, California.  Resurrection is ferocious at the perfect length of 25min and I would love to grab this EP on cassette.  Very classic sound with piercing solos,  grim vocals and pulsating drums.  Sounds like a mummy and a spider recorded this 6ft underground.  A great classic that everyone should have.  Very excited to see Sadistic Intent tomorrow.

Dodheimsgard - A Umbra Omega (2015)

Mind boggling, avent-garde Norwegian Black Metal from Dodheimsgard.  Even though this album cover looks like some new wave post/bm, Dodheimsgard has been in the game since 1994 pushing classic raw Black Metal and they deserve to do whatever the hell they want.  Reminds me of the same track Akercocke took but when I watched them at Deathfest last year, they still vastly crushed it. A Umbra Omega tracks in at 107 minutes with 5 tracks and 1 intro, so you know your in for something uniquely bizarre. Going in and out of time signatures, blast beats, speedy tremolo picks, piano and clean guitar, DHG still composed a piece of art.  I have a soft spot for "bad" vocals because it emulates more passion, id say, and they fit that category. Not saying that is a bad thing, its a great feature in my opinion.  FFO : Taking Acid and tightrope walking.

Phrenelith - Desolate Endscape (2017)

Last year, Germany's Phrenelith released Desolate Endscape and this album cover shows us exactly what happened to their hometown 10 seconds into side A.  The pile of stench that Phrenelith create is worse then my friends breath but yet I keep coming back for more.  Dark Descent Records loves their "Wall of Sound" metal bands so no wonder they found Phrenelith and put out this 35 minute belly gurgle. Desolate Endscape is chuggy with old school melodious and bring in the filth like Witchrist & Pseudogod do. Thanks to DPG I finally have the digital version.

Lord Gore - Resickened (2004)

In honor of MDF this weekend I will be reviewing only bands that are playing this year.  So i decided to start off with this putrid pile...LORD GORE.  Resickened was released in 2004 on Razorback Recordings and you can tell this isn't your aunt's Kenny G mixtape, this is some nasty, gore/porno grind with some stink fart art.  Besides using the same clip from the movie Happiness that Regurgitate used on Deviant, Oregon's Lord Gore produces clip filled, drum blasted,  son of a bitch and will probably be a trip live.  Heavy Stuff!

Enforcer - Death By Fire (2013)

Full force of flamboyant 80's heavy metal produced by Sweden's ENFORCER.  Don't let the sound fool you, Death By Fire came out in 2013 and kicks your wussy asses back into hairspray and black leather.  Band formed back in 2004 and has put out 4 LPs, with Death By Fire being their 3rd release.  Great music for beer drinking and acting a fool, so stop reading this and go party!

Black Math Horseman - Wyllt (2009)

Wyllt by Black Math Horseman is a truly underrated album by four L.A. psych doomers.  Tee Pee Records released this mysterious beauty in 2009 and the band called it quits pretty much right after.  Sometimes a blessing for certain bands to keep from them putting out some forced shit.  Female fronted with some haunting reverb-drenched vocals and guitars just heavy enough for you to slowly bang your head...Wyllt is a fucking gem. Delicate enough to show your mom while still having the grit of an outlaw.

Bell Witch - Demo (2011)

Amazing American Doom Metal crawling its way out of Seattle, Washington.  This is Bell Witch's first release and they have not slowed down since, fame speaking, musically...probably even slower.  I was lucky to catch this duo on their tour with Primitive Man at a shithole, the best kind, punk bar.  Hopefully again this fall with Pallbearer.  Watching Bell Witch live is like being sucked into a black hole.  They captivate all your senses and bring you into their world.  My sub-genre for them would be "Loner Metal"...music you only put on when your buy yourself.  Otherwise, your friends will fall asleep.

Leonard Cohen - Songs of Leonard Cohen (1967)

Just a few days after Christmas in 1967, Leonard Cohen graced us with his gift to the world, Songs of Leonard Cohen.  His Debut LP that beautifully sets your lazy Saturday mood.  This wordsmith reads poems backwards, half drunk, with the smell of sex and still makes them sound like Walt Whitman piece.  Total badass.  Kick your feet up, relax and drink some coffee while enjoying this Canadian Poet.

Enthroned - Towards the Skullthrone of Satan (1997)

If your a fan of Black Metal and don't get down with this 45min fury, then you can just get the hell out! Sike, but really, this is a relentless beast.  You get the same feeling of being chased by a dog that wants to tear your flesh off when endearing this LP.  Towards the Skullthrone of Satan was released in 1997 by Belgium's Enthroned and is their 2nd full length. With drums beating down your door and Lord Sabathan carrying some of the worlds best BM vocals its hard to say anything in foul nature about this album.  Exclaimer : Do not advise you to listen to this past volume 5, drink coffee and take 2 vyvanses or heart may explode. DO IT. Total music ecstasy.

Witchcraft - Witchcraft (2004)

Swedish Pentagram worshipers Witchcraft, put out this god-tier stoner/psych rock LP back in 2004 and still holds up as one of the best to this day.  Brilliant song structure and even with the scene being flooded with these style of bands nowadays, Witchcraft stands way out of the crowd.  Magnus Pealander (Gutiarist/Vox) used to be in a band named Norrsken, ft. members of the great GRAVEYARD, and in 2000 when that band fell apart he went to create this golden child.  He has this way of telling his stories like a mom putting her son to bed, but in a weed & whiskey filled basement with vintage equipment everywhere. This album is in my top 10 of all time.  Bow down to your master.

Tombs - Path to totality (2011)

Hailing from the North American Apple, this Brooklyn, NYC group released one of my favorite metal albums...Path to totality.  The feeling of this album is wet, cold and filled with sorrow.  Somehow Tombs produced an atmosphere that seeps through the music with such texture, you have to wipe off before getting rings on your wooden coffee table.  Path to Totality was released in 2011 on Relapse and, in my opinion, haven't reached this level of excellence since.  They have put out two LPs (Savage Gold & The Grand Annihilation) after P.O.T. but went a different style production/sound wise i feel and lost me a little.  Don't let that discourage this fucking masterpiece.

Siege - Drop Dead (1984)

Blistering, in your face, 1984 hardcore from Massachusetts.  Way ahead of their game as far as this style of punk/hardcore.  Drop Dead was originally released in 1984 as a demo tape, Relapse in 1994 (CD) and Deep Six in 2004 on wax.  This 9 song ripper clocks in at 17min and that is including "Grim Reaper" which is 7min long.  Put on your seat belt and drive through a brick wall.  This album has and will always be on rotation in the punk world.

Kosmogyr - Eviternity (2018)

Ok Ok Ok Ladies and Germs.  I know it has been over 4 years since Succulent Teeth has last posted but I was just busy with life. I'm striving to get back into giving all my viewers the great music that I have come across in my life and wanted to kick it back off with KOSOMOGYR'S Eviternity LP.  These two mother fuckers from Prague, Czechia absolutely blew my dome skully off with this beautifully crushing release.  Before their debut LP Eviternity, they have put out one single containing track three "Quiescent" with the same style of art as this.  Eviternity is the "new wave" of Black Metal and I see no problem with this at all, when done correctly.  Fiercely executed. Superb Production. Filled with Atmosphere. Definitely in my top 10 releases for 2018.  I have never air drum "machined" so much in my life.  Actually think I can play drums after listening to this in my car so many times.
